Strathcona County RCMP are seeking witnesses after a fire at a Sherwood Park property on Glengarry Crescent was deliberately set, investigators believe. Firefighters were called at about 2 a.m. on Aug. 9 and extinguished the blaze by 3:30 a.m. The building remained standing, and neighbouring properties were not damaged.

Police released surveillance footage from 10:40 p.m. and 11:25 p.m., before the fire began. It shows three people walking a dog on Glengarry Crescent who stop and appear to speak with two people on bicycles. Investigators want to speak with those in the footage because they may have information that could help the case.

The house has drawn dozens of complaints and received a notice earlier this year requiring residents to leave. RCMP had previously said they were working with county enforcement services and other agencies to address issues around the home.

Anyone with information about the fire is asked to call Strathcona County RCMP at 780-467-7741.
