Kicking off Spooky Strathma, Strathcona County Museum and Archives is offering a sneak peak into the museum’s October long theme on Friday, Oct. 2 with a Paint & Sip night featuring local artist Andrea Krahn.
Open to painting pros and fresh faces, Krahn will guide participants in creating their very own Spooky Strathma masterpiece with her signature enthusiasm and warmth. Running from 7 to 10 p.m., tickets are $40 per person and include all supplies as well as one drink. Strathma asks that all tickets be purchased in advance at strathma.ca/event-details/sip-paint-night.
If painting isn’t your pleasure, on Saturday, Oct. 3, Strathma will officially open Spooky Strathma. This year visitors will be transported to the Sherwood Park’s early Medieval Days celebrations. Featuring a medieval village, exciting activities for the whole family, and a special exhibit including archival images, newspaper articles, and memories from participants of the 1960s Medieval Days festival, guests can dive into local history all month.
From 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Strathma Saturdays welcomes visitors of all ages for free drop-in activities. On Saturday, Oct. 3, join Strathcona County Service Clubs for Monte Carlo Night at The Agora. Raising funds to support the Strathcona Food Bank and Sherwood Care, several local service clubs have teamed up an unforgettable night of casino fun and friendship.
Featuring entertainment by a live jazz band, live and silent auctions, a cash bar, and snacks, the night will blend community and camaraderie for a great local cause. With a formal semi-formal dress code, the occasion offers the perfect opportunity to dress your best and will run from 7 p.m. to midnight.
