We take a RockBLOCK 9704 and a Pi Zero into the Colorado backcountry and try to have a real two-way Reticulum conversation with family in Florida - no cell, just Iridium, Cloudloop, and a cloud bridge - while running a 14-mile race up to 13,000 feet. On the trail the uplink works (messages later show up on the server) but the live round-trip fails under the trees; back home, the same rig under open sky chats both ways until it feels like ordinary texting.
