An early morning fire damaged two houses in central Edmonton on Sunday after flames spread from one home to a neighbouring property, Edmonton Fire Rescue Services said. The fire began at about 6 a.m. near 109A Avenue and 95 Street, north of downtown.
The spread prompted a two-alarm response. Firefighters brought the blaze under control about two hours after it began, Edmonton Fire told CTV News Edmonton. No injuries were reported.
The department said the fire started at a house in the city’s core. No further details about the cause of the fire or damage to the homes were provided.
