A fire at a boarded-up single-family home in Edmonton’s Queen Mary Park neighbourhood was brought under control early Friday, with crews putting it out several hours after arriving. Edmonton Fire and Rescue Services confirmed the response in an email to Postmedia on Friday.

Crews received the call just before 3:20 a.m. about the home near 107 Avenue and 113 Street. They arrived at 3:22 a.m., declared the fire under control at 3:39 a.m. and extinguished it at 6:23 a.m. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The incident was among recent Edmonton-area fires, including a blaze that damaged three homes in southwest Edmonton’s Cameron Heights. A couple’s 64-year love story was also remembered after a tragic fire in north Edmonton.
