CTV News Edmonton has reported:

Boo at the Zoo has returned to the Edmonton Valley Zoo, offering families Halloween activities alongside visits with their favourite animals. Visitors can take part in trick-or-treating at the event, which costs the same as regular zoo admission.

“There are lots of spookier Halloween events around the city, but we like to keep it a little more family-friendly around here,” said Amanda Bryce, the zoo’s event coordinator. She said many young children attend, and families often arrive in matching costumes. Bryce described it as a family event that gets everyone involved.

The animals also receive Halloween treats, including pumpkins, and may be intrigued by visitors’ costumes. “I think the animals like these new experiences,” Bryce said. “We like to give our animals enrichment so that they are stimulated and that their brains are active.”

The event will also run on Oct. 24 and 25. CTV News Edmonton’s Curtis Goodrum contributed files.
