Slashdot has reported:

A woman identified as Marvin was arrested in Philadelphia after repeatedly standing in the path of a delivery robot to protest what she sees as the loss of human delivery jobs. Police said she ignored multiple orders from officers to move. She was charged with disorderly conduct.

Marvin said she has confronted delivery robots on several occasions. “I have been protesting them whenever I saw them by standing in front of them and preventing them from going forward,” she said. She also described the protest as protected speech and said, “I know they're taking the jobs of human delivery workers.”

Ashley Baldwin, a resident of West Philadelphia, said she witnessed one encounter. “I actually thought the robot hit her, so my original question was, 'Are you OK? Did the robot hit you?' And she said, 'No, I have to stop this. They're taking over the world,'” Baldwin said.

Asked whether she intends to keep protesting the robots, Marvin said she does. Uber did not respond to a request for comment.
