CTV News Edmonton has reported:
A heavy windstorm brought more power outages to Edmonton and surrounding areas for the second time this week, as officials prepared to repair damaged power lines. Outages were concentrated on the city’s outskirts, particularly in Sherwood Park and Stony Plain.
Fortis Alberta, which supplies power to much of Alberta, said on social media it was experiencing “high call volumes and longer than normal” customer service wait times as outages increased through the city. Gusts were expected to reach 100 km/h in parts of Edmonton on Saturday. The story was still developing.
