Mo Gawdat has reported:

Mo Gawdat urged people to preserve their relationships with other people as artificial intelligence grows more capable, speaking at Gladiator Summit II. He described intelligence as a utility that people can access like electricity, with its capabilities doubling every few months.

Gawdat said he worries that AI’s ability to sound human, express emotion and hold conversations will make truth harder to verify. He recalled falling for someone he had never met in person, a relationship built entirely through text messages and voice notes.

“I once fell for someone I'd never met in person, built entirely through texts and voice notes,” he said. “If that felt real to me, imagine what a machine designed to feel real can do.”

He encouraged people to use and master AI, saying it could raise their IQ, but cautioned against letting it replace existing human connections. “Go see them. Hug them. Disagree with them in person. That's the part no machine can do for you.” The talk was recorded live at Gladiator Summit II. The summit’s full talk is available on YouTube; it also lists Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and its website.
