OpenAI has updated its ChatGPT Chrome extension to let users access information from their open browser tabs. A demo video shows the feature in action.

The update also expands ChatGPT in Chrome’s sidebar, bringing the full capabilities of ChatGPT and users’ complete conversation history in Chat or Work into the page they are viewing.

ChatGPT Work can control Chrome tabs to send messages, fill out forms or download files. It can also organize or group open tabs. The Verge described the control features as similar to Google’s Gemini-powered “auto browse” feature.
