Strip away the advertising, social comparison, and engineered desire and most people want simple things. Connection, safety, time, meaning. The Ferrari is not a dream.
It is a product. It exists not because people naturally wanted it, but because someone worked hard to make them feel like they did. Remove the scarcity and status signal, and the desire starts to dissolve.
This matters because it changes the story we tell about human nature. We are not, at our core, endlessly greedy and competitive. Most of us would not obsess over accumulation if accumulation came with no reward.
The world ahead may not need to manufacture desire anymore. And that might be the most quietly radical thing about it. #MoGawdat #HumanNature #Capitalism #Happiness #AI
