Slashdot has reported:
Apple’s first foldable iPhone, the $1,999 iPhone Duo, sold out within minutes of preorders opening, with every configuration now estimated to ship in late January 2027. The reported ship date for all colour and storage combinations is January 25, while some customers are seeing January 29.
The delay reflects a mix of strong demand and severely constrained supply, though the precise balance between those factors is unclear. Before the launch, several reports said the device would be in short supply as Apple continued to increase production.
A report by Nikkei Asia last month said Apple was producing only a few hundred iPhone Duo units per day, significantly behind the production ramp for a typical iPhone launch. The January dates are estimates shown to customers placing orders, and the supplied information does not specify any further production plans.
