Autosport has reported:
Formula 1 fans can vote to choose the next holder of the Heineken F1 Season Ticket, a prize that includes free travel, accommodation and passes to every race next season. Six finalists from Scotland, New Zealand, Czechia, the United Kingdom, Singapore and the United States have submitted pitches for the opportunity, which follows hundreds of applications from around the world.
The candidates were asked to explain their passion for the sport and why they should receive a season of racing. The competition is intended to give one fan the chance to attend every grand prix, experience events and connect with other fans while watching the action in person. The six finalist videos are available to watch as the public decides who should be crowned the 2027 ticket holder.
Heineken created the initiative to highlight the connections people can form through a shared interest in F1. Its theme is “Fans Have More Friends.” The competition also offers the next ticket holder a chance to share their experiences across the season, following the example of the current holder, Brandon Burgess.
Burgess was the first person to receive the golden ticket. He has been posting accounts of his season to social media, where he has almost 150,000 followers. His trip is nearing its end, and the competition will select someone to take over the role.
Burgess also sat on the judging panel that chose the six finalists. Before the competition began, he described what he would look for in an applicant: “The key thing I'll be looking for is the passion for F1, because you have to be a true fan to make the most of this opportunity. It’s going to be hard to give it up and there’s quite a lot of pressure choosing who’s next.”
The finalists have outlined different ways they would approach the year. Callum, from Scotland, said he pretended to be Michael Schumacher in front of the television when he was a toddler. A keen film photographer, he wants to document the people and places behind the championship, saying: “I’d love to take you behind the scenes of the F1 season ticket and show you the people and places of F1 on film.”
Dale, from New Zealand, hopes to explore the “F1 world” around each race, including the people, cultures and supporters who make each event distinctive. “I want to meet the people who make it special and bring everyone along for the ride,” he said.
Lukas, who lives in Czechia, framed the prize as a break for his sofa and an interactive experience for viewers. Winning would “finally be some peace for my sofa,” he said. He also promised fans they could “be the team boss” by choosing challenges for him during each race weekend, with the results shared as the season unfolds.
India, from the United Kingdom, called herself a “completely ordinary fan” hoping to make next year “extraordinary.” She invited other fans to set her fun challenges at each race and said the prize would “bring together my two passions of F1 and seeing the world.”
Joy is from Singapore, where her home grand prix took place earlier this month. She hopes the trip would let her experience F1’s “the excitement and sportsmanship” around the world and give her the opportunity to “share the same passion” with other people.
Jose, from the United States, follows more than the racing itself, with an interest in the strategy, technology and teamwork behind F1. He attended his home race in Las Vegas last year. “Travelling to every race in the 2027 would honestly be a dream come true,” he said.
The chance to attend every grand prix gives the winner access to the sport and its fans across the season. Burgess has demonstrated how the opportunity can be used, while the next holder will bring a different story and approach to the experience.
The competition was open to fans aged 25 or older. Applicants had to name their favourite team and driver and select, from options provided by F1 and Heineken, whom they would take to a future race. Fifty entrants were then selected at random and invited to submit a 90-second video explaining why they should become the next ticket holder.
Those six videos now form the shortlist for the public vote. The finalists represent a spread of countries and have set out distinct plans for sharing a year of races, from film photography and fan-set challenges to exploring the people and cultures connected to each event. Fans can watch their submissions and choose who they want to see receive the 2027 Heineken F1 Season Ticket.
