CTV News Calgary has reported:

A 69-year-old Alberta housekeeper is facing six charges after gold, silver and other items were reported stolen from her employers’ home in Carstairs. Didsbury RCMP responded on Sept. 18 after the homeowners said their residence had been burglarized while they were away.

During the investigation, police obtained video of a woman later identified as Ann Carveth, who was known to the victims. RCMP said she pawned the stolen gold and silver for approximately $87,000. A later search of her home in Didsbury uncovered identity documents and contraband tobacco.

Carveth is charged with break-and-enter; theft over $5,000; mischief under $5,000; trafficking in property over $5,000; possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000; and possession for the purpose of sale of a tobacco product packaged without a stamp. She was remanded into custody and is expected to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Didsbury on Oct. 19.

Didsbury RCMP believe there may be additional victims because of Carveth’s work as a housekeeper. Anyone who believes they were a victim or has information is encouraged to call the Didsbury RCMP at 403-335-3382.
