CTV News Calgary has reported:

Lethbridge drivers are booking tire swaps after Alberta’s first taste of snow and a cold weekend brought a surge of calls to Kal Tire’s south Lethbridge location. The shop is still offering same-day tire swaps, though it expects to soon book appointments two to three days in advance.

Drivers are trying to prepare for changing weather by switching to winter tires. Kal Tire South assistant manager Brantley Boisclair said: “It generally happens as soon as the first major snowfall happens, where it’s sticking to the ground and everybody now is starting to rush and scramble to get their safer winter tires put on,”

Drivers can book a tire swap online to save time. The snowfall marks an early sign that winter is approaching, and the shop’s busy period typically begins when snow sticks to the ground.
