CTV News Edmonton has reported:
34 Street between Roper Road and 64 Avenue has reopened after the Fulton Creek culvert replacement was completed about a month ahead of schedule. The city said the project began on Sept. 14 and replaced a 70-year-old culvert near Pylypow Wetlands.
The old culvert had reached the end of its service life. Replacement was needed to maintain proper drainage and help prevent flooding in the area. A full closure of the road was required to support an accelerated construction schedule.
The new large concrete box culvert is designed to maintain drainage, improve flood response and accommodate future road widening.
