Phys.org has reported:

A new result from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Argonne National Laboratory and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign marks progress toward using magnetic spins in quantum information processing. The finding traces a one-way route from spin waves to a superconducting circuit.

Magnetic spins are a quantum property of matter that can store and manipulate information. Quantum information systems could eventually support faster computing, sharper sensing and more secure communication.
