Mo Gawdat has reported:

Mo Gawdat says emotional resilience comes from reducing the time spent in unhappiness, rather than avoiding difficult moments. Disappointment, frustration and missed expectations are part of being human, he says, and should be treated as signals rather than verdicts.

Gawdat suggests pausing instead of reacting repeatedly, then asking: “Is it true? Can I change it? Can I accept it and move forward anyway?” He says resilience can be measured by how quickly someone regains clarity after things do not go their way. Repeated small emotional resets, he says, can transform a person’s experience of life. The goal is recovery, not perfection.
