RaceFans has reported:
A controversial collision between Formula 3000 championship contenders ended with one driver disqualified and the title decided, according to a RaceFans item marking the event 30 years later. The source text is dated Oct. 12, 2026, and also displays Oct. 8, 2026, at 10:06 as a publication time. It was written by Keith Collantine, who described the incident as a finale between the championship rivals.
Brack tried to force his rival off the track, triggering contact between the cars. Muller’s car lifted into the air before he spun out, while Brack stayed in the lead. Race control responded by showing Brack the black flag, disqualifying him from the race.
Christophe Tinseau won the event, and Marko celebrated Muller’s championship victory. The source does not give the race’s location or the full names of Brack, Muller or Marko. It says the collision decided the championship and that one of the contenders was disqualified.
The report said Formula 3000 was losing value as a pathway to Formula One. For the first time, neither of the championship’s top two finishers went on to compete in grand prix racing. It did not identify those two finishers beyond the names included in its account of the crash and championship celebration.
Collantine, a lifelong motor sport fan and former motoring journalist, founded the site in 2005, when it was called F1 Fanatic. He began running it full-time in 2010, fulfilling a long-held ambition to focus on motor racing.
