Slashdot has reported:
Prime Video released the full trailer for Blade Runner 2099 at New York Comic-Con, roughly six weeks before the science-fiction series is set to premiere. The streamer will release all eight episodes on November 25, 2026. The trailer had drawn 2.1 million views in its first 17 hours, according to the source report.
The series had its first preview at San Diego Comic-Con in July. New York Comic-Con also brought a new trailer for Godzilla Minus Zero, a sequel to director Takashi Yamazaki’s Godzilla Minus One. The earlier film was described as a grounded kaiju story that became a major international hit and won an Oscar for best visual effects. The new trailer collected 1.2 million views in its first five hours.
Star Wars and Marvel were also part of the convention news. Kevin Smith had announced a Star Wars/Marvel: Hope Assembles crossover comic, combining the Marvel universe and the Star Wars galaxy. A LEGO Ideas challenge now invites fans to submit their own creative mash-ups to mark the 50th anniversary of Star Wars: A New Hope.
Fans can use physical or virtual LEGO bricks to enter in three categories: Character Fusion, Vehicle Fusion and Scene Fusion. LEGO’s website asks participants to “Write an engaging description and upload great images of your creation without using AI tools...” The challenge follows Smith’s crossover announcement and gives fans a chance to contribute their own ideas to the mix.
Star Trek announcements included an interview between 95-year-old William Shatner and super-fan Ben Stiller. The interview ended with Stiller surprising Shatner with the original Gorn head from Stiller’s personal Star Trek memorabilia collection. A new documentary will examine the disastrous fan-organized convention in 1982 that attempted to reunite cast members from the original series. Its title is The Con of Wrath: The Craziest Convention Ever!
Gates McFadden, who played Dr. Beverly Crusher on Star Trek: The Next Generation, will write a new comic book about Crusher. It will “bridge the 20 year in-universe gap in Crusher's story between the events of the film Star Trek Nemesis and the television series Star Trek: Picard.” Paramount+ held a panel for Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, which is returning for a second season in 2027. Nacelle Toys announced action figures of Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry and Lucile Ball, owner of Desilu Productions.
Reuters also published photos of costumed attendees at the convention. Another panel drew attention after an unruly fan shouted over a presentation for Prime Video’s animated series Helluva Boss. The disruption culminated with series star Brandon Rogers shouting, “You need to shut the f--- up right now. I'm going to jump over this fence and end you. It's not cute.”
