A packet preserved from the 2001 implementation of RFC 1149, which sent TCP/IP over carrier pigeon, is up for auction at Christie’s. The auction listing showed a current bid of US$2,600.

The packet is one of those kept from the event. A long-time Slashdot reader identified as badger.foo described the auction as “a unique chance to own a piece of Internet history.”
