Slashdot has reported:
Ubuntu confirmed a distributed denial of service attack disrupted its web infrastructure on Thursday, leaving its website, ISO downloads and other resources inoperable for people trying to access them. The incident was reported by Phoronix.
In a Thursday post on Ubuntu Discourse, the team said: “Our team is working diligently to resolve the incident,” followed by a later update: “At this time our team continues to work on restoring affected services, most of them are now available. We appreciate your patience and understanding.”
Ubuntu’s status page records an Ubuntu.com outage lasting two hours and 27 minutes on Friday. It also shows outages lasting four hours on Wednesday, as well as other disruptions affecting Ubuntu sites. The page now says, “All components are Operational.”
