RaceFans has reported:
McLaren team-mates Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri are under investigation after colliding on the final lap of the Singapore Grand Prix sprint race on Oct. 10, 2026. Their cars made contact at a corner’s apex, both spun, and Piastri struck the barrier on the outside. Norris continued and finished eighth.
Norris apologized to his team over the radio, saying: “Sorry about that,” before explaining his view of the incident. “Obviously I didn’t want that to happen but I thought I was fully alongside. I just ran out of space at the apex but I was there.”
Piastri played down the collision, saying: “From where I sit, it’s for fourth and fifth for a sprint race so I’m not that bothered either way,” and adding: “Just obviously it’s a lot of work now for the team to get both cars fixed.”
The stewards are also investigating a collision involving Sergio Perez and Lance Stroll, as well as another incident involving Alexander Albon, Gabriel Bortoleto and Valtteri Bottas. Arvid Lindblad is facing an investigation over driving in the wrong direction after spinning during the Safety Car period.
The incidents took place during a sprint race won by Max Verstappen. George Russell had been leading before crashing out on the wet track. Verstappen retained sprint race pole position after passing Lewis Hamilton under yellow flags, according to related coverage of the event.
The race result and championship points were also published, alongside a reader poll asking whether stewards should penalize either McLaren driver. At the time of the article, the poll showed zero voters. A RaceFans account was required to vote, and the result was to appear in place of the voting form once the poll closed. Readers were also invited to comment on whether the stewards should issue a penalty.
