CTV News Edmonton has reported:
The Rainbow Bridge has reopened to drivers after repairs and widening were completed as part of the second stage of Edmonton’s Terwillegar Drive Expansion Project, the city says. The bridge now has four lanes in each direction, including dedicated bus lanes.
Retaining walls and shared-use pathways were also upgraded. The city says drivers should expect some closures during off-peak hours or overnight while crews complete finishing touches, including work on the median barrier on Whitemud Drive.
Construction continues on Terwillegar Drive where it crosses Anthony Henday Drive. Slope erosion along an embankment has also led to a traffic restriction: the curb lane on westbound Whitemud Drive is closed beneath the 122 Street overpass. The city says the closure will remain until later this month.
The Rainbow Valley Pedestrian Bridge opened in July for people walking, cycling or rolling.
