Phys.org has reported:

An international research team led by Hans Briegel has studied the physical limits on how efficiently intelligent systems process information. Briegel is with the Department of Theoretical Physics at the University of Innsbruck in Austria, and the findings were published in Physical Review X.

Artificial intelligence is increasingly used in everyday life, including in digital assistants and robots that respond to their surroundings. These capabilities rely on physical computational processes that consume energy.
