BBC Sport has reported:

The 2026 Formula 1 season’s sixth and final sprint race is scheduled for the Singapore Grand Prix, running from Oct. 9 to 11. Mercedes driver George Russell has won three sprints this season, in China, Canada and Zandvoort. The other completed sprint events were in Miami and Silverstone, while Singapore is listed for Oct. 10.

The format is largely the same as last year, but six slowest cars will be eliminated from each of the first two sprint qualifying sessions, up from five. Sprint qualifying takes place Friday after the weekend’s only practice session. Its three segments, SQ1, SQ2 and SQ3, last 12, 10 and eight minutes, respectively, and set the starting order for the sprint.

The 100-kilometre sprint lasts about 30 minutes and is the first track action on Saturday. At Marina Bay, it is scheduled to run 21 laps, starting at 10:00 BST. Main-race qualifying follows as the second Saturday session, in its usual place. The Grand Prix is set for Sunday at 13:00.

Points go to the top eight finishers, from eight for first place down to one for eighth, and count toward the drivers’ championship standings. At the fifth event of the 2025 season, the Dutch Grand Prix in August, Russell won from pole position, ahead of Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and world champion Lando Norris.

The 2026 sprint calendar comprises China, Miami, Canada, Silverstone, Zandvoort and Singapore. Singapore is the final round, with the sprint listed for Oct. 10.
