Valleyview RCMP issued a province-wide Amber Alert for seven-year-old Aspen Wilson after police said she was abducted from her home in Valleyview, Alta., by her stepfather, Alexander Stone. The alert was issued at 10:15 a.m. local time Monday. Police did not say when the abduction occurred.

Wilson is described as four feet tall and slim, with curly, shoulder-length blonde hair and blue eyes. Stone, 28, is described as six feet five inches tall, weighing 185 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes.

Police believe Stone is driving a grey 2004 Chevrolet Venture van with Alberta licence plate CWY 3459. The pair may be travelling to Slave Lake or Red Deer. Valleyview is about 350 kilometres northwest of Edmonton.

“If located, police say not to approach the vehicle or the suspect. Instead, call 911 immediately or contact the RCMP at 310-RCMP,” the Edmonton Journal reported. CTV News Edmonton also advised people who see them not to approach and to call 911.

The Edmonton Journal attributed the abduction information to a police media release, which said: “Aspen Wilson was taken by her 28-year-old stepfather Alexander Stone from Valleyview.” Alberta RCMP issued the alert, according to Global News Edmonton. That report said more information was expected.
