Researchers from ICMAB-CSIC, the Politecnico di Milano and Université de Liège adapted a direct laser writing technique to draw superconducting properties in a material. The approach offers a way to program a superconductor’s behaviour locally, tuning it between fully superconducting and insulating states with extraordinary precision.
