Slashdot has reported:

Bethesda has confirmed that its next Elder Scrolls game will be titled The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel. The studio revealed the name in a video celebrating its 40th anniversary, which showed the game’s logo after executive producer Todd Howard discussed the franchise’s future.

Bethesda also announced the title in a separate tweet. “Thank you for 40 years of shared memories,” the studio wrote. “We can't wait to make even more together with The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel. Development continues, and while it'll be some time before we're ready to share more, it feels great to finally reveal the name and location with you.”

In the anniversary video, Howard walked past a display case of games while reflecting on the teams behind them and the time players had spent with their work. “And you know, every day when I walk by this case, obviously I look at the games and think about them, but more so I think about the teams that made them, and the time and the passion that everybody put into the games,” he said. He added that hearing how meaningful the games had been to players, and learning about the time they had spent playing, was meaningful to Bethesda as well.

Howard said the anniversary was a chance both to look back and to consider upcoming work, particularly on the Fallout franchise and The Elder Scrolls. “You know, everybody's always asking about Elder Scrolls 6. And we thought, hey, given the the moment, what a perfect time to tell you what The Elder Scrolls 6 is actually called.” The video then displayed the title logo.

Bethesda has not given a timeline for further details, saying it will be some time before it is ready to share more. The studio said it had finally revealed the name and location of the game.
